On March 15th – 16th, 2016, RESPOND facilitated Quality Improvement (QI) Learning Session to discuss existing and new challenges and first results of QI Efforts in Zaporizhzhya oblast. In January-February 2016, RESPOND technical expert team conducted quality improvement (QI) mentoring visits to AIDS Centers and ART sites in Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Kyiv, Mykolayiv, Odesa and Zaporizhzhya regions and the city of Kyiv.

In coordination with Ukrainian Center for Disease Control (UCDC), RESPOND supported the development of the Training Curriculum on HIV Counseling & Testing. The curriculum is based on the international best practice and the most recent WHO recommendations. In September 2015, RESPOND completed the pilot of Mpowerment methodology in Ukraine as a program to provide HIV prevention services for MSM (men who have sex with men). Over 1200 MSM were enrolled in the program through three sub-grant projects in Kryvyi Rih, Lviv and Chernihiv.

To ensure consistency and quality of data collection and analysis process, RESPOND has developed an electronic tool which uses data available in the standard health service reporting forms.
