On May 26 2015 the USAID RESPOND project conducted a wrap up workshop to present results from piloting Street Smart HIV prevention program targeted at Most-at-Risk Adolescents. Through RESPOND sub-grants to 7 local organizations, over 1,100 adolescents received services from July 2013 to March 2015. The program helped to increase knowledge about HIV from 38,6% to 63,8% and coverage by preventive services from 27 ,5% to 87,5%. Meeting of key regional stakeholders working in the area of HIV/AIDS in Mykolayiv Oblast took place in Mykolayiv on April 23, 2015.
The participants reviewed epidemiological data and focused on the localities with the highest burden of HIV. The first Capacity Development Community of Practice (CD COP) for RESPOND partner organizations took place in April in Kyiv. The announcement was placed on Mosaic, Pact’s online collaboration platform, which also hosts a Community of Practice for Ukrainian partners who provide HIV services to key populations. Out of 21 RESPOND local partners, 16 organizations enrolled to participate in Capacity Development COP held in Kyiv on April 3rd.

To promote demand and use for decision making (DDUDM) RESPOND has developed Practical Guidelines on the Use of Strategic Information in the Area of HIV/AIDS on the Regional Level. Based on the Guidelines, RESPOND conducted 3-day trainings for 35 specialists from regional M&E centers across the country in April.
The main objective of the training was to cultivate the use of strategic information for regional level decision making regarding policy, resource allocation and future programming.

On March 24-25, RESPOND team facilitated a strategy development meeting in the city of Melitopl, Zaporizhzhya oblast. Representatives of local and regional health administration, HIV/AIDS Centers, TB, Narcological and primary health care facilities, NGOs analyzed the cascade of HIV care and treatment in the city of Melitopol and Melitopol rayon.
